What does Muslim mean?
It means ‘one who submits to Allah’

What is meant by Faith in Islam?
One day while the Prophet was sitting in the company of some people, The angel, Jibrail (Gabriel) came and asked, ‘What is faith?’ Muhammad (صلي الله عليه وسلم) replied, ‘Faith is to believe in Allah, His angels, (the) meeting with Him, His Apostles, and to believe in Resurrection’. (Narrated by Abu Huraira: Sahih al-Bukhari)

What does Islam mean?
The word Islam literally means ‘peace and submission to Allah’.
The angel, Jibrail (Gabriel) asked, ‘What is Islam?’ Muhammad (صلي الله عليه وسلم) replied, ‘To worship Allah alone and none else, to offer prayers (Ṣalāt) perfectly, to pay the compulsory charity (Zakāt) and to observe fast (As-Sawm) during the month of Ramadan’.

What is the Muslim name for God?
Allah (الله‎) is the Arabic word for God. Allah for Muslims is the greatest and most inclusive of the names of God, it is an Arabic word of rich meaning, denoting the one and only God and ascribing no partners to him. Muslims often say ‘Allah Subhana wa Ta’ala’ this means ‘God May He be Glorified and Exalted’.

It is exactly the same word which the Jews, in Hebrew, use for God (eloh), the word which Jesus Christ used in Aramaic when he prayed to God. God has an identical name in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam; Prophet Moses (عليه السلام) called him Eloha (Hebrew), Prophet Jesus (عليه السلام) called him Alaha (Aramaic) and Prophet Muhammad (صلي الله عليه وسلم) called him Allah (Arabic). Allah is the same God worshiped by Muslims, Christians and Jews.

Muslims believe that Allah’s sovereignty is to be acknowledged, and it is his right to be worshiped. Muslims also pledge to obey his teaching and commandments, conveyed through his Messengers and Prophets who were sent at various times and in many places throughout history.
